PetDiary ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application PetDiary (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account and use PetDiary, we may collect the following information:

• Account Information: Email address and display name used for authentication
• Pet Information: Names, breeds, birth dates, photos, microchip numbers, coat color, sterilization status, allergies, and health records of your pets
• Health & Medical Data: Veterinary appointments, vaccinations, medications, weight tracking, medical records, heat cycle tracking (for female pets), and activity tracking (walks and play sessions)
• Contact Information: Veterinarian contacts, groomers, and other pet-related service providers you choose to save
• Financial Data: Pet-related expense tracking (amounts, categories, dates)
• Documents: Pet-related documents you upload (health certificates, insurance documents, etc.)
• Purchase Information: If you subscribe to PetDiary Pro, purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. We store only your subscription status (active/inactive) and entitlement information. We do not have access to your payment card details.

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version
• Usage Data: App feature usage patterns (anonymized)

Location Data

If you use the Activity Tracking feature for walks, the App may request access to your device's location services (GPS):

• Real-time use only: GPS location is used strictly in real-time to calculate the distance of your walk.
• No tracking data stored: We do not save, store, or transmit your location history, GPS coordinates, or route data to our servers.
• No third-party sharing: Your location data is never shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the App's functionality
• Store and sync your pet data across devices
• Send appointment reminders and notifications (with your permission)
• Improve and optimize the App experience
• Provide customer support

Data Storage and Security

Firebase Services

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication: Securely manages your account credentials
• Cloud Firestore: Stores your pet data with encryption at rest
• Firebase Storage: Stores uploaded photos and documents
• Firebase App Check: Protects our backend resources from abuse
• Cloud Functions: Processes subscription verification securely on server-side
• Firebase Hosting: Hosts our privacy policy and other static web pages

Data Isolation

Each user's data is completely isolated. You can only access data associated with your own account. Our security rules ensure no user can access another user's information.

Data Sharing

We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

• With your consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• Service providers: With Google Firebase for data storage and authentication (subject to Google's privacy policies)

Your Rights

• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
• Export: Your data is accessible through the App interface

Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly from the App:

1. Open the Settings screen in the App
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
3. Confirm your decision in the warning dialog
4. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately

Children's Privacy

PetDiary is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Notifications

The App may send local notifications for:

• Appointment reminders
• Medication schedules
• Vaccination due dates

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, and file storage

• Resend: Sends transactional emails (such as email verification and password reset)

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Firebase servers are located globally. By using the App, you consent to these transfers.
